WHEN YOU WEREN'T BORN A TECHIE OR CONSULTANT...

INOHQ was founded by Ino Chang, an artist and educator who broke into consulting and tech, having worked at IBM, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Salesforce, and Google. He's now a Sr. Manager at Palo Alto Networks working on Mergers and Acquisitions and product management.  While on the surface it may seem that Ino had all the technical and analytical background, he got his start as an artist and a business student who broke into tech without knowing a line of code. While studying at the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley, Ino didn't follow the conventional paths of his classmates to work at the ABC's (Accounting, Banking, or Consulting). He decided to follow his passion in art and education and started his career managing digital post production projects at Warner Bros. and then scaling an education startup.

BUT BROKE INTO TECH

However, he saw the tech industry was booming and wanted to pursue a unique niche focused on human-centered design innovation using technologies.  He knew he had to break into tech first to learn the skills necessary, so he developed a system that would land him tech offers for non-tech roles and started his career working for IBM doing marketing and sales.

TRANSITIONED INTO PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

While consulting at the Big4, Ino led huge transformation projects at Google and Salesforce and fell in love with product management. He eventually transitioned from consulting into product management in tech and absolutely love his role today. He's now the Sr. Manager at Palo Alto Networks working on Mergers & Acquisitions and product management.

AND CRACKED CONSULTING

While working at IBM, he was captivated by the consultants who were traveling, presenting to the executives, and wowing him with all their skillsets and wide industry knowledge. He wanted to be just like them and realized consulting was exactly the secret formula he needed to accelerate his learning and skillsets and go into any job and industry he wanted. So he made an internal transfer and became an IBM consultant, making his foray into consulting. He later was poached by the BIg4 and Accenture and worked his way from a consultant to a manager at Deloitte and PwC.

AND HELPED OTHERS DO IT

Along the way, he's interviewed hundreds of candidates from different backgrounds for various roles in tech and consulting - from sales to customer success, from big techs to startups.

He knows exactly what tech recruiters look for and how hiring managers think - because he's been there and done that.
